Price: SGC will grade your cards through our service for $14/card. The only exception is if it's a super valuable pre-2000 card. No cards post-2000 will be upcharged, i.e., cards produced in the year 2001 or later.

Turnaround time: SGC will grade your cards and send them back to SlabStox within 5 business days. SlabStox will then ship your cards back to you within 3-5 business days.

Customer service: SGC provides excellent customer service for collectors. Have a question? They’ll get it answered…FAST.

No upcharges: Whether you have a $20 card or a $20,000 card, guess what? You’re only paying $14/card. In comparison, if you were to grade a $20,000 card through PSA, it would cost at least $600.

Free auto-grade: Your autographed cards receive an auto-grade for free. PSA charges a 20% premium on the service cost if you wish to have an auto-grade.

The cost is $14 per card. For post-2000, there will be no upcharges. This is the lowest price you can grade cards with SGC.

Pre-2000 cards: If your card is determined to be valued between $1,500 to $3,500 by SGC, it will be upcharged to $85. If it's between $3,500 to $7,500, it will be up charged to $125. If it's $7,500 to $20,000, it will be $250.

If an upcharge occurs, we will email you to collect the difference in grading fees as soon as we've been notified.

PLEASE include your packing slip in your package (attached to your email confirmation). All collectors are responsible for shipping their cards to us. The shipping paid at the checkout is for return shipping to you.

  • We have two different Submission Groups:
    • Submission Group 15th: This group ships to SGC on the 15th of the month. Cards need to be received one day prior to the 15th shipment.
    • Submission Group 30th: This group ships to SGC on the 30th of the month. Cards need to be received one day prior to the 30th shipment.

NOTE: If you select the 15th submission but we receive it on the 15th of the month or later, it will be shipped in the upcoming 30th submission. This will be noted in your submission status.

The five-ten day turnaround time refers to the grading process.

SlabStox ships cards to SGC twice a month. From the moment SGC receives your cards, they will be graded and shipped back to SlabStox within 5-10 business days. Once SlabStox receives them, they will be shipped back to you in 3-5 business days.

Once SGC ships you cards back to us, SlabStox will process your order and ship your graded cards to you within 3-5 business days.

SGC does NOT grade or authentic in-person autographs at this time. If you happen to send one in, we will notify you and refund you the cost you paid for that card to get graded and return it to you with your submission once it's done being graded. If you would like it shipped back faster, you can request to have it shipped back immediately as long as you cover the shipping cost of the extra package.

Attributes are anything that you want to denote to describe your card. That can be "Base" or "Auto" or "Orange Refractor /25."

Yes. Once the cards are graded and are being shipped back to us, you will receive an email notification. If you would like to know what your grades are, please reply to that email and we can send them.

When you reply that you would like to see your grades, you can also request to see scans of your cards at the moment they’re graded.

If you log into your account and look at your order history, you’ll be able to see the status of your order. There are many different statuses, ranging from “received at SlabStox” to “received at SGC” to “graded by SGC.” You will get an email notification each time the status has changed on your order.

No, you don’t. All you need is a SlabStox account to submit your cards through our card grading order form.

We do not offer an evaluation service at this time. You have to prepare your cards for the submission, and we help process your cards and get them to SGC for a lower cost.

  • Be sure every card is protected. All cards should be penny-sleeved and must be placed into a semi-rigid holder, such as a card saver, or top-loader/magnetic holder (thick card). This is required.
    • If you don’t have semi-rigid holders, you can ship to us in top-loaders, but there will be a $0.50 charge per semi-rigid that you need. SGC requires cards to be sent in semi-rigid holders.
  • We recommend photographing every card (front and back) for your protection before submitting. (See question: “Is there a way for me to dispute my grade?”)
  • Place in a team bag, or “resealable bag,” to keep cards from shifting during shipment.
  • Protect cards with bubble wrap, packing peanuts, or other materials to prevent damage.
  • Be sure to have a return address on your shipment.

If that is the case, we are able to send them in thick toploaders or magnetics. Putting too thick of a card into a semi-rigid holder risks damaging the card.

For each card submitted, you must declare a value for it. We ask that you put a fair market value estimation on each card you’re submitting based on the post-grading value of the card.

Yes, you can. You can send us a card already in a graded card case and SGC will crack out the card and give it a new grade using their grading scale. If you would like them to grade it without knowing the previous company’s grade, we require you to crack the card out of the slab yourself before submitting.

We can only offer minimum grades on cards with a market value of $2,000 or more, OR if you submit at least 50 cards in a single order and want the SAME minimum grade on all of the cards in that order. If you’d like a minimum grade on a specific card, we request you write the card in the “additional notes” section of the order form and the minimum grade you’d like. If the card meets the threshold, it will be slabbed with the grade your card receives from SGC (not necessarily the minimum grade).

If your card does not meet that threshold, you will still be charged $18 for that card. SGC charges for the review of it.

You can submit as many as you’d like. There is no minimum or maximum to grade cards with SGC through our service.

Autographed cards are graded for the same cost as every other card: $18. Unlike other grading companies, there is no upcharge for the auto-grade. If your autograph is not a “10," there will be no auto-grade put on the card.

For 99% of cards, it does not. All cards will be graded for $14 per card unless you have extremely high-end pre-2000 cards you want graded (see question #2 above). Please email info@slabstox.com if you would like a quote on high-end vintage card grading.

When you place your order, it will require you to enter all of your return shipping information into our secure website. It will also charge you for return shipping based on the method you select, including if you want to insure the shipment. If you want more than $5,000 in insurance on your package, it will require you to ship via FedEx.

To dispute a grade, we will direct you to support@gosgc.com. You will need to provide  before grading/after grading images of your card if you believe it was damaged during the grading process. We will confirm with SGC that you got your cards graded through SlabStox.
